INJECTIONS FOR ANCHORING

Anchoring is quite often used in cofferdams. The anchors ensure that both the floor as well as the walls remain in place during and after the construction of the definite structure.

These anchors are mainly placed when the groundwater level outside the cofferdam is higher than inside the cofferdam. Leaks are common via these anchors. It is relatively simple to repair these leaks using injections.

Injection is often used even before an anchor is placed. When a hole is cut in the sheet piling, steps must be taken in advance to counteract the seepage of sand and/or water. A sealing can be put in place in advance behind the sheet piling using injection, which ensures that the hole in the sheet piling can be cut with no seepage.
